SUBSCRIBE TO RAM N JAVAIs Your Google Pay Safe? 5 Critical Security Tips
In the world of digital payments, security is everything. While Google Pay is very secure, hackers are always coming up with new tricks to steal money. Here is a simple, beginner-friendly guide to making your Google Pay account unhackable.
1. Never Share Your UPI PIN
Your UPI PIN is the key to your bank account. No bank official, Google Pay employee, or customer care agent will ever ask for your PIN. If someone asks for it, it’s a scam!
2. Receiving Money Doesn't Need a PIN
This is the most important rule: You only enter your PIN to SEND money, never to receive it. If someone tells you to enter your PIN to "receive a prize" or "accept a payment," hang up immediately.
3. Use a Strong Screen Lock
Enable the "App Lock" feature inside Google Pay. Even if someone gets hold of your phone while it's unlocked, they won't be able to open Google Pay without your fingerprint, face ID, or a separate pattern lock.
4. Beware of "Screen Sharing" Apps
Never download apps like AnyDesk or TeamViewer if a stranger asks you to. These apps allow hackers to see your phone screen and steal your bank details while you are using Google Pay.
5. Verify the Receiver's Name
Before you hit "Pay," always look at the name that appears on the screen after scanning a QR code. Make sure it matches the person or shop you are actually paying.
Quick Safety Checklist
- Update the Google Pay app regularly.
- Don't use public Wi-Fi for bank transactions.
- If you lose your phone, block your UPI account immediately.
