Understanding RAG: The Secret to Smarter AI

Have you ever noticed that AI sometimes gives outdated or incorrect answers? While AI systems are powerful, they are often limited by the data they were originally trained on. To solve this, a method called RAG is used.

What is RAG?

RAG stands for Retrieval-Augmented Generation. Think of it as a bridge that allows an AI to search for the most current information before it answers your question.

  • Retrieval: Finding the right information from documents or databases.
  • Augmented: Adding that fresh info to the AI's existing knowledge.
  • Generation: Creating a final, accurate answer for the user.

The Librarian Example

Imagine visiting a library. If you ask a librarian about "Solar Energy," they don't just guess based on what they remember from years ago. Instead, they:

  1. Search the shelves for the best books on the topic.
  2. Read through the most relevant information.
  3. Explain the answer to you clearly.

In this scenario, the librarian is the RAG process, and the books are the "Knowledge Base."

Why Do We Need RAG?

Standard AI models can't remember every single document, especially since rules, policies, and news change every day. RAG helps because:

  • It provides more accurate answers.
  • It uses updated information.
  • It reduces hallucinations (AI making things up).
  • It can access private company data that isn't public on the internet.

The 5 Steps of RAG

  1. User Asks a Question: For example, "What is our company's leave policy?"
  2. Search (Retrieval): The AI searches PDFs, databases, and company files.
  3. Selection: The AI picks only the most relevant documents.
  4. Contextualizing: The AI reads the user question alongside the retrieved info.
  5. Generation: The AI writes a clear, factual response.

Stop Unexpected Deductions: How to Manage Google Pay AutoPay

Whether it's an OTT subscription like Netflix, your broadband bill, or a loan EMI, Google Pay AutoPay is incredibly convenient—until you need it to stop. If you've changed service providers or just want to cut back on expenses, knowing how to pause or cancel these mandates is essential.

Pause vs. Cancel: Which One Do You Need?

⏸️ Pause

Use this for a temporary break. It stops the next deduction but keeps the setup active so you can resume it anytime without re-entering details.

✖️ Cancel

Use this if you are done with the service. It permanently deletes the mandate, and no more money will ever be deducted for this specific bill.

Step-by-Step Management Guide

  1. Open Google Pay and tap your Profile Icon (top right).
  2. Select Autopay from the menu options.
  3. Choose the specific service (e.g., Netflix, Airtel) you want to manage.
  4. Tap on either Pause AutoPay or Cancel AutoPay.
  5. Confirm your action and enter your UPI PIN if prompted.

When Should You Review Your AutoPay?

Switching Providers: If you move from one DTH or Broadband provider to another, don't forget to cancel the old mandate!

Free Trials: If you signed up for a trial that requires AutoPay, set a reminder to cancel it before the first real deduction happens.

Budgeting: Reviewing your AutoPay list once a month is a great way to spot "ghost subscriptions" you no longer use.

2. Backend Servers (The Brain)

Netflix uses powerful servers to manage the heavy lifting. This part of the architecture handles:

  • Content Management: Organizing thousands of movies and shows.

3. Recommendation Engine
