SUBSCRIBE TO RAM N JAVAHow to Completely Uninstall WinSCP
Whether you're switching to a different client or just cleaning up your system, uninstalling WinSCP is a straightforward process. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to ensure it is removed correctly from your Windows computer.
Step 1: Open the Control Panel
The easiest way to start is by searching for "Control Panel" in your Windows search bar. Once it opens, look for the Programs section and click on "Uninstall a program".
Step 2: Locate WinSCP
You will see a list of all installed applications. Scroll down until you find WinSCP. The list is usually alphabetical, so it should be near the bottom. Click on it once to highlight it.
Step 3: Start the Uninstallation
After selecting WinSCP, click the Uninstall button that appears at the top of the list. A confirmation window will pop up asking if you are sure you want to remove the software. Click Yes to proceed.
Step 4: Choose Your Cleanup Options
WinSCP's uninstaller will ask if you want to remove your configuration settings and stored site sessions. If you plan to reinstall later, you might want to keep these. If you want a totally clean slate, select the option to remove all settings.
Wait! Before you uninstall, make sure you have backed up any important server login details if you haven't saved them elsewhere.
